So...
I kind of stopped working on my art camp stuff in the middle of it. Bad of me =(
I got a new job in the meantime. I left Eyes Wide Games, to whom I am very thankful for my first job in the Gaming industry, and started working at Floyd County Productions, the studio that makes the animated show Archer. I don't work on Archer though, I'm a Background Artist for the new show Chozen. You can learn a lot about the show with a quick google search, but here is a screenshot:
Floyd is a great place to work at, the amount of amazing artists working there is stunning. I'm really happy =) Also, our backgrounds look awesome, I'm really proud of the work I'm producing there, and I can't wait for the show to be released around January.
In the meantime I haven't been producing much personal work in the past few months... But here are some pictures of random ATC cards anyway:
Also, I have registered for the Illustration Masterclass next summer! And I'm very excited about that. If you don't know anything about it, it's an intensive class where student get too meet and study with many great modern fantasy artists and produce, with a focus on producing one amazing portfolio piece in one week. Plein-Air and photo studies
Fun fun studies
I had a hard time doing the plein-air paintings. The weather was either rainy or really hot, and by the time I get home from work night is almost here. My watercolors looked horrible and i had a busy week-end. I ended up reverting to ipad sketching. I'm not satisfied with them (I rarely am =) ) but I think with a lot of practice, my ipad plein-air paintings could yield good results. Ipads are just so portable.

And photo-studies. I did a few more, but I would like to work on them some more before sharing them.
And I also have to jump unto next week's studies. I'm doing materials, with a focus on metals.

Master Studies and Still Lives
So Week 02 of my art camp was a bit of a failure... I think I pushed myself too hard on the first one and was just drained. We were supposed to do many more master studies and many imaginative sketches. This is all I got.
I've picked up for week 3 though. It's Still Lives and imaginative work week. We're doing a variety of short Still Life Studies and long rendered ones. These studies range from about 30mn to 3h30 hours. More to come.

moar studies
I have passed the halfway point in both color and b&w. However, I still feel like I'm behind. Oh well, I tried hard.
I added the reference for this batch's colored ones. The reference I use are often from books or no right click websites, it's why I haven't been adding them often.

Noah's Art Camp
So I have signed up for a 12 week class with Noah Bradley. It was relatively cheap compared to other art classes offered online, and I admire his work, so why not? Here is a link if you're interested:
http://www.noahbradley.com/artcamp/
It's really intensive, and I'm going to have a hard time keeping up with my job, but I'll give it my best!
In the meantime, here is my assignment from the past two days:
The assignment for the first week is to do many masterstudies. The goal is 50 3-4 value composition studies, 50 color studies and 3 fully rendered masterstudies.
I'm hopping to learn a lot from these.

Ganesha Concept Final
Done! For now...
This took longer than expected. Mainly rendering all the details in the jewelry...
I like it for now, though I might change my mind tomorrow. I will probably find some things that need modification too.
I could probably post more steps of the process if anyone is interested. Otherwise I'll probably move on to another project.

ganesha concepts
My previous sketch got very fleshed out but never finished... I'll either finish it more before posting it, or just show its current state and leave it alone. In the meantime, I've moved on and have been working on a fighter Ganesha concept. Here is my current progress:
I will be fleshing out number 2 and I hope to finish it this week. If it doesn't happen, I definitely have other sketches to share before Monday comes around.

Grumpy Cat
My own little visual study into what exactly makes Grumpy Cat look so grumpy.
Not nearly grumpy enough though...Also, fur.

Figure Studies
I have been doing a bunch of figure studies from Andrew Loomis' amazing book 'Figure Drawing For All It's Worth':
It's an amazing book, the best I have found when it comes to learning anatomy for artists. Others might prefer other guides, but this one is my personal favorite.
Here are some of my studies:
I have also been having a lot of fun with a new ink brush-pen I got, some of these studies were done with it.

Late Post and News
Sooo... it's been a while. But I have a great reason! I got a job!
So I'm now an artist at Eyes Wide Games, and I mainly work on the Walking Dead IP.
You can easily find the game on facebook if you are interested.
But as a result, I haven't had much time to work on my own art, and I can't really share pictures of what I have been doing there...
But I have been working on other things! I participated in the Global Game Jam two weeks ago, and the current prototype of the game is available to play online. Here are some pictures of the game, as well as a link as to where you can play it

And of course, I did not do this alone. The whole team worked on the mechanics of the game, I did the art with my friend Rose Peng , Vu Ha coded the whole thing, and Andres Villarreal did the music. You can find more information on the team HERE.
None of my posts are complete without some sketches, so here are random doodles to close this:
