General Step by Step

I put this step by step together for a friend of mine and thought I might as well share for whoever comes by here. It's a drawing I did about six months ago (time goes by so fast...) but the method seems worth sharing to me. I hope you enjoy.

Self-Portraits

Haven't updated in a while, but I don't feel like letting this place die yet. I may post some more WIPs soon.

More work for class. The number of self-portraits that I've been doing in art school keeps growing, but I guess it's an easy way to draw a human figure without having to look for someone willing to let you draw them.
The one on the left is done in india ink, and the one on the right with black and white colored pencils. I'm unhappy with the ink one, but the pencil one is not too bad. I might try the pencil technique again.

Portrait 02

More portrait training =) Kind of a monochromatic palette on this one. With a reference again.

Portrait practice

I'm practicing portraits, as I tend to be very bad at drawing the face. They always end up looking ugly.

As you can see, I love to play with unrealistic colors. I used a photo-reference for this one, although I wasn't trying to make it look the same: http://liam-stock.deviantart.com/art/portrait-84686066 (I can't seem to make the link work)

Exquisite Corpse

A drawing that's one year old. It was an interesting concept, we were actually two to work on this. The other person did the upper part, leaving only 1 inch visible and I did the rest with the little I saw, without knowing what he had drawn.
I think the result was really successful on this one. I just got the drawing back from the teacher, which is why I'm showing it.
